EDIT: since i realised some pple do not know wee shu min/have not read the blog post.. i decided to provide a link to the post. well, since she has removed her blog, u have to see it on numerous places where they stored the post.. :P

interesting how Wee Shu Min and her dad managed to make it to 1 and 3 on technorati.yes, the power of the internet at disseminating information.

hopefully, it would help erode the control the PAP has over our freedom of speech, although, as we have already seen, they are trying hard to limit what pple have to say over the internet. cough, "undermining the seriousness of the elections process" yes, of course.. we are *tt* mindless.

Hmmm, read the blog entry and the comments. I'm quite disturbed by how angsty and offensive other Singaporeans can be. Bloody dangerous country to be in, I must say...

well, throughout history.. excessive oppression has only led to a rebellion.. so i feel the government is walking a tight rope here...

@nick: she had it coming. you don't make comments and ad hominem attacks without having others dish it back on you. not that such behaviour is justifiable, but it will happen. likewise, it is also fair for us to judge the retaliatory responses.

@xq: it will be difficult. remember that proverbial tale of the elephant that was tied to a stump as a calf and never attempted to escape even after reaching adulthood? i fear we may be like that. besides the oppression has not exceeded the critical levels necessary to stir such passions, if my countrymen were even capable of them.

Haha better be careful of what you say in your blogs then. People dun seem to like RJ elites, esp when they make such controversial, inflammatory comments. I think people's reactions would be much milder if tt blog entry came from another, less "elite" source. Some of the replies to the post are quite vicious. Ugh. Ugly Singaporean indeed.

cm> well, and judging by the very different responses we get, i'd tt we probably are rather far from the critical point of having any drastic change happening. maybe not in our lifetime.. haha.

nick> i think when u call someone a crackpot, and a 'sadder class', its hard to expect pple to be polite to you... well, i wun get flamed.. i am not a minister's son.. ;)
